Blue Seal – Lampwork Glass Sculpture

Display sized beads Whilst still fairly small by glass standards, these are a challenging size to make with a relatively narrow flame. I intentionally push myself from the comfort zone for these, because if it was too easy, it wouldn’t be so much fun, or so satisfying! Layering transparent colours, speciality silver glass and silver leaf gives rich and shimmering colours with beautiful variation from one end of the bead to the other. Why seals? They’re simply my favourite creature to spot while I’m at the beach & swimming in the sea. Gorgeous colours of blue and turquoise. you can see the beautiful colours through it when held up to the light. Each of my seal beads is unique, each has been individually sculpted in hot glass, no two are exactly the same. Measurements: Seal 78 x 45 x 25mm, Stand measures 67 x 50mm, 64mm high including the bead Comes with the custom clear acrylic stand I make my lampworked glass beads and marbles one by one using soda lime glass in my Devon studio, they are cooled very slowly in my digitally controlled kiln in a process called annealing for strength and durability. please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!
